Waupun Drift Jumpers Meeting

March 17th, 2008

At the Chester Town Hall

7:00pm Food

7:30pm Meeting

Well, as I write this newsletter the weatherman is calling for snow melting temps.  We have had a GREAT year for our sport!  The club has put many gallons of diesel fuel through the groomer.  A few members spent a couple of their Saturday’s to put on wiener roasts, and there were a couple of local club rides.  We also had a wonderful turnout for the Winter Raffle event at Spirits.  We were glad to see so many there!  I do have to mention one disappointing thing.  That is the few members on our roster for the club.  With all of the snowmobiles seen out on the trails as I was riding the trails and grooming them we have only 72 memberships.  We did get some new members from the Winter Raffle and the wiener roasts.    In the late `90’s we have had over 90 memberships.  So PLEASE join a club!  If you ride with others ask them if they are members anywhere.  Also if you were a member in the past make sure that you have renewed your membership.  We send out membership forms the beginning of each season.  That is when your dues are expected to be in.  That way you will be assured not to miss an issue of the WSN magazine, and you AWSC Insurance coverage will be valid for the whole upcoming season (not just a portion.)   On a different note…22 other snowmobilers lost their lives this year. According to the DNR website as of Feb. 19th there were 22 that had past away, many of which involved speed and alcohol.   Here are some reasons for you to attend our March Meeting.  1. Get your Dodge county Association of snowmobile clubs Scholarship forms.  2. Find out how well the club did at the Winter Jam. 3. Learn how many hours were put on the groomer.  4. Find out what went on at the AWSC Convention.  5. Nominate some one for office or BOD’s, or accept a nomination. 6. Trade stories of your trail adventures. 7.  Talk about how you may have met some new people. 8.  Talk about the sled that you had seen and thought it would be nice if it was yours.  9. Gather with some friends. And Number 10, eat some good food and enjoy some beverages.  SO as usual, I hope to see you at the club meeting, and bring a friend!

See you soon!
